Ingredients
- 1 lb ground round steak
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 lge onion, chopped
- 1 tbs butter or margarine
- 4 cups tomatoes
- 1 No. 2 can kidney beans
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 can mushrooms
- 1 cup rice (uncooked)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- Dash of chili powder
- Salt & pepper
Directions
- Brown ground meat, green pepper and onion in butter or margarine.
- Add tomatoes, kidney beans, carrots, mushrooms, rice, chili
- powder, sugar, salt, peper to taste.
- Cover and cook over High heat for 6 minutes, or until steaming.
- Turn switch to low or warm and allow to cook for 20 to 25
- minutes.
- Serve with buttered peas, garlic bread, cole slaw; with jelly
- roll for desert.
