Pork Chow Mein
Ingredients
- 3 # lean pork, cubed
- 2 C. diced celery
- 2 C. diced onion
- 2 tbs vegetable oil
- 1 (16 o.z.) can bean sprouts,
- 1 (8 o.z.) bamboo shoots, drained
- 1 (8 o.z.) can sliced water
- chesnuts, drained
- 2 C. water
- 1 C. soy sauce
- 1/2 C. water
- 1/4 C. cornstarch
- Hot cooked rice
- 1 (3 o.z.) can chinese noodles
Directions
- Saute pork, celery and onion in oil in a Dutch oven until browned.
- Cover and simmer 45 to 55 minutes or until jpork is tender; drain off
- drippings. Stir next 5 ingredients into pork mixture; bring to a
- boil. Lower heat. combine 1/2 cup water and cornstarch; stir until
- smooth, and add to pork mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until
- thickened and bubly. Serve over rice, and garnish with noodles.
- Yield 8 to 10 servings
