Swiss Steak Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 # boneless round steak
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melt
- 1 (16 o.z.) can tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp whole basil leaves
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 1/2 cup (6 o.z.) shredded
- mozarella cheese
Directions
- Trim excess fat from steak; cut into serving-size pieces.
- Dredge steak in flour; saute in butter until browned. Add tomatoes,
- salt, basil, and pepper to steak; cover and simmer 1 hour, Stir in
- onion and geen pepper; cook an additional 30 mintues. Sprinkle
- cheese over meat, and heat just until melted. Yield 4 to 6 servings.
