Chili con Carne
Ingredients
- 1 lb Onion medium diced
- 1 tbl vegetable oil
- 1/2 o.z. Garlic, chopped
- 2 1/2 lb ground beef
- 2 lb Crushed Tomatoes
- 4 lb Diced Tomatoes
- 4 o.z. Tomato paste
- 1 pt Beef broth
- 1 o.z. chili powder
- 2 tsp Cumin, ground
- 4 ea BAy leaves
- tsp salt
- tsp Black pepper
- 12 o.z. Kidney beans
Directions
- Saute the onions in the oil until tender, Add the garlic and saute
- one minute.
- Add the beef and brown, stirring occasionally. Drain off the excess
- fat.
- Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a simmer, cover and cook for
- 1 hour.
- Remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasonings.
